Teacher arrested on drug, alcohol charges

CHATHAM BOROUGH

Frank M. Melchiorre, 26, of Chatham Borough is also facing drug possession charges.

Investigators said he had marijuana and drug paraphernalia on him when he was arrested Thursday morning.

Melchiorre is also accused of providing alcohol to a person under the legal age and making his residence available for the consumption of alcoholic beverages by persons under the legal age.

Melchiorre is employed as a science teacher at Governor Livingston High School in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. It is not known if he supplied any alcohol to students.

The school district notified parents in a letter, which stated that Melchiorre had been suspended and further action was pending.
