Investigators charged Rondell Jones, 21, with shooting Eric Thomas, 21, multiple times in the back Saturday morning.
Police say the violence erupted after a dispute at a house party on Bergen Avenue.
Prosecutors say when the gunfire broke out, the victim ran for his life, but the bullets stopped him.
Thomas was pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center.
