Found body is not missing IU student

INDIANAPOLIS Marion County coroner Frank Lloyd says the body retrieved Sunday from Fall Creek is that of a young black woman who had possibly been in the water for more than two weeks.

The discovery of the body floating among debris drew attention because of the ongoing search for IU student Lauren Spierer, a 20-year-old white woman from Greenburg, N.Y. She was last seen June 3 near her Bloomington apartment after a night out with friends.

Bloomington is about 50 miles south of Indianapolis.

Lloyd says the woman's identity wasn't immediately determined from an autopsy Tuesday.

The body was spotted Sunday floating among debris in Fall Creek.

Authorities have also been investigating the June 13 disappearance of 74-year-old Dorothy Heard of Noblesville.

Lloyd said the body is not Heard either.
