It happened at around 6 p.m. near the intersection of 4th Avenue and North 12th Street.
23-year-old Kendel Davis managed to drive the car to nearby Columbus Hospital, and then died behind the driver's seat in the parking lot.
The other victim, also a 23-year-old man, was taken to University Hospital in an unknown condition.
Phillip Sessoms, age 22 of Newark, is charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault and Weapons offenses. Bail has been set at $750,000.
