22-year-old Rashad Salaam was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder in the stabbing death of 16-year-old Kyanna Thomas.
The 16-year-old had slipped out of her aunt's house in Bedford-Stuyvesant and she was stabbed in the neck.
With life slipping away from her she was able to call 9-1-1.
But sadly, by the time help made it to the corner of Saratoga Avenue and MacDougal Street it was too late.
It is not yet known if the victim and suspect knew each other.
