Heart disease different for men and women

NEW YORK

New research shows that women with extensive plaque in their coronary arteries have a greater risk of a heart attack than men.

Men's risks were greater when that coronary plaque is non-calcified and deeper inside the artery.

The research was conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Researchers hope doctors will use this information when evaluating heart patients.
