On Wednesday, Jewel chipped in with fellow volunteers and helped fill backpacks at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
The singer has partnered with Child Hunger Ends Here, a campaign that helps children facing hard times in the United States.
"Over one in five kids actually suffer from meal insecurity. It's where they don't know where their next meal is coming from," said Jewel. "So it's really important to try and help spread that word."
Jewel recorded an original song called "Here's Hope" for the campaign. Partnering with ConAgra Foods, fans can download the song for free.
