Last chance for Nassau scofflaws to avoid boot and tow

NASSAU COUNTY

The owners of about 8,000 vehicles owe the county about $10 million.

Nassau's new boot-and-tow program has barely put a dent in that, as just about $29,000 has been collected so far.

The program took effect last week.

If your vehicle has three or more traffic, parking or red light camera tickets, it will be booted and you'll have 48 hours to pay the fines or be towed.
