Man arrested in Brooklyn tobacco store robbery

BROOKLYN

Alexander Franco, 27, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree robbery in connection with the incident, which was caught on surveillance camera.

Police say Franco smashed his way into a tobacco shop on Jamaica Avenue in Cypress Hills just before 5 a.m. on June 25.

Clerks say he had a gun and got away with an unknown amount of cash.

He was spotted outside the store for several minutes before he pulled up his hoodie, lowered his shoulder and crashed through the door.
