At about 4:15 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a man shot in front of Smith Houses at 15 St. James Place.
Officers discovered a 30-year old man with gunshot wounds to the torso. He was taken to New York Downtown Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
The victim's identity has not yet been released. So far there are no arrests.
