May 13, 2014 (WABC) -- We are so vulnerable as people, and, talking now specifically about New York, as a city.
Doubt that for a second? Shut down one of the City's major transportation connections or hubs.
That's what has happened tonight, as a giant sinkhole opened up in the outbound part of the Holland Tunnel. Crews are right now on the scene, trying to make emergency repairs. And they'll be there for a while up to 14 hours they say. That means tonight's commute and tomorrow morning's commute will be mightily affected.
We're there tonight at 11 with what you need to know to get around.
We're also in Newark at 11, and we might know by then who the next Mayor of Newark will be. It's been a horribly nasty race between two Democrats, City Council Ras Baraka and former state Ass't Atty. General Shavar Jeffries.
Save to say these two guys will not be exchanging holiday cards. Our political reporter Dave Evans and Eyewitness News reporter Joe Torres are covering the races for us tonight.
We'll also have any breaking news of the night, plus Meteorologist Lee Goldberg's AccuWeather forecast and Rob Powers with the night's sports. I hope you can join Sade Baderinwa and me, tonight at 11.
