NEWARK, N.J. (WABC) -- A vigil was held in Newark Thursday for a woman found dead 10 days after she was reported missing.

The body of 50-year old Pamela Davis was discovered in the garage of a home on South 11th Street last week, just a few doors away from her own home. She had been decapitated.

Her funeral will be held Friday.

Investigators are still questioning the man who rents the home where she was found.

Neighbors say Davis was a familiar face to almost everyone on the block.

Her sudden disappearance followed by the gruesome discovery of her body has family and friends here stunned and desperate for answers as authorities continue their investigation.

Inside the garage, detectives found the bound and headless body covered in a blanket.

She was a mother of four and neighbors say they routinely saw Davis riding her bike or seeing her youngest son with autism off to school.

"We knew that she was missing because she comes by here every day on her bike or taking the kids to school," a neighbor said.
