Winter can be a difficult season to deal with in several parts of the U.S. But in these select cities, the struggles of winter-living are at a completely different level.

AccuWeather picked Boston, Buffalo, Chicago and Cleveland as the hardest cities to live in during the winter.

"The cities on our list are persistently snowy and extremely cold from December to February," AccuWeather said. "The number of winter weather events including snowstorms, arctic outbreaks and overall impacts were also considered."
