HUNTS POINT, Bronx (WABC) -- The NYPD is trying to track down the suspect behind a string of subway robberies in the Bronx over the past month.

The first incident happened May 29th, when the robber grabbed the cell phone of a 44-year-old man sitting on the bench of the northbound subway platform at Hunts Point train station, and fled the scene.

Two days later, police say a 26-year-old woman was aboard a northbound #6 train sitting by the door, reading on her cell phone. As the train doors opened at the Hunts Point train station, the suspect grabbed her phone and took off.

Later that night, he grabbed the cell phone of a man at the Hunts Point station, northbound platform.

On June 1st, a 21-year-old woman was on board of the #6 train at Parkchester and East 177 Street station, where authorities say the suspect attempted to take her cell phone from her hand.

She struggled with him from the train to the platform, suffering abrasions to her right knee. The suspect fled down the street.

He is described as Hispanic in his 20's, 5'7" and about 150lbs.
