GOWANUS, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Star Wars fans excited about the upcoming movie release have a reason to be even more excited - Star Wars ice cream, and it's made right in Brooklyn.
For a limited time, Ample Hills Creamery in the Gowanus section is releasing Star Wars-themed flavors - The Dark Side and The Light Side.
The pints are sold online in four packs, with two of each flavor. The ice cream containers were designed by the company and feature Star Wars characters.
Here's how Ample Hills describes each flavor:
THE LIGHT SIDE flavor is a bright marshmallow ice cream with homemade crispie clusters, as well as a smattering of handmade cocoa crispies (to represent the dark side still lurking within the light).
THE DARK SIDE, by contrast, is an ultra-dark chocolate ice cream with espresso fudge brownies, cocoa crispies, and white chocolate pearls (to represent the light still hiding in the dark, waiting to burst through).
How much will the collector pack set you back? $36 plus shipping. It's not quite as much as a Star Wars Death Star Waffle Maker, which is retailing for about $40.
Jackie Cuscuna, co-owner of Ample Hills, a long-time Star Wars fan, said to be able to have the ability to make the ice cream is quite the honor.
"This is a dream collaboration," Cuscuna said. "And to be able to work with Lucasfilm and Disney Consumer Products to create new ice cream flavors that represent the two sides of The Force...that might just be the coolest thing we've ever done."
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is in theaters Dec. 18.
