CANARSIE, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Two people are under arrest after an FBI agent was shot in the shoulder in Brooklyn, police say.
The agent was sitting in a car, a Maxima, near Canarsie Road, conducting surveillance on an unrelated case just before 3:30 Saturday afternoon, when suspects in another car drove by and started shooting at his car.
The agent then drove down the block to Avenue N, and exited his vehicle and returned fire. The agent's backup was in a separate vehicle, out of eyesight.
Just down the block there was a second scene with shattered glass covering the street. The suspect's bullet-ridden BMW was at a body shop on Remsen Avenue.
Sources say the suspects dumped their vehicle and then drove a different car to Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. One suspect, who was shot in the hand, walked into the hospital - the other suspect drove him there.
Police say the FBI agent who was shot in the shoulder is expected to be okay.
Charges are pending against the gunman. The driver will be hit with motor vehicle violations.
Investigators still do not know what the motive of the shooting was.
