82-year-old man fatally struck by car in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- An 82-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a car in Brooklyn.

The accident happened at 7:15 p.m. Friday in the Gerritsen Beach neighborhood.

Police say Joseph Ciresi was struck by a car as he crossed Gerritsen Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and has not been arrested.
