Police search for sexual predator who attacked Brooklyn woman

Police looking for suspect in attempted rape in Brooklyn

WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Police are searching for a man who assaulted a woman in her Brooklyn apartment Tuesday.

The New York City Police Department released surveillance showing the assailant following his 37-year-old victim into a Williamsburg building near Driggs Avenue and South Eighth Street around 8:30 a.m.

He stopped the woman in the stairwell and forcibly removed her pants and underwear.

When the victim screamed and began to fight, the predator ran away.

The man police are looking for is described as in his mid-20s, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches and 150 to 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green hooded sweater, light colored pants and black sneakers. He was carrying a black umbrella.
