Pedestrian hit by car near Canal Street in Lower Manhattan

LOWER MANHATTAN (WABC) -- A pedestrian was struck by a car, closing Canal Street in Lower Manhattan Friday.

The man was struck at Canal Street and West Broadway just before 5 a.m.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

The driver stopped at the scene. No criminality was immediately suspected.

Canal Street was closed between West Broadway and Wooster Street.
