Car crashes into building in West Brighton

WEST BRIGHTON, Staten Island (WABC) -- A car crashed into a vacant storefront in West Brighton, Staten Island Tuesday night.

It happened at 516 Broadway just after 7 p.m.

The driver fled the scene shortly after the collision took place.

The occupied first and second floors of the building were evacuated for several hours, but residents were allowed back in.

No one was injured.

Police are continuing to look for the driver.
