CARMEL, N.Y. (WABC) -- Fire officials said a house and a dog-grooming business in Carmel have been destroyed in an early morning fire.
No one was injured.
The owner of the business lives in the house and was inside the structure when the fire started. There were NO dogs in the building at the time of the fire.
Around 65 firefighters responded from numerous local fire departments. It was 7 degrees in the area when they were fighting the fire. A sander was called to the scene due to icing and firefighters slipping.
There are no reported injuries to firefighters, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Smoke was still billowing from the destroyed structure at 5 a.m.
