1 dead in East Village fire on 1st Street

NEW YORK (WABC) -- One person was killed in an apartment fire in the East Village

The victim, a woman in her 20s or 30s, was found dead in the basement of the East First Street building just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. It is not considered suspicious.
