Police searching for elderly man accused of stabbing granddaughter's boyfriend

BUSHWICK (WABC) -- Police are searching for the elderly man accused of a deadly stabbing in Brooklyn.

Detectives say 81-year-old Nicholas Diaz stabbed 21-year-old Kevin Rivera in the chest inside an apartment in Bushwick about 2:00 Sunday morning.

Investigators say Rivera was the boyfriend of Diaz' granddaughter.

Paramedics rushed Rivera to the hospital, but he did not survive.

Diaz left the scene after the attack.
