Wheel of Fortune contestant sets show record

SAN FRANCISCO -- A contestant on the Wheel of Fortune took home a record prize on Friday night.

With just one vowel on the wall, Matt Desanto correctly guessed "The Lone Ranger".

But he didn't stop there. He went on to win every puzzle in the main game.

Desanto won $91,000 before the bonus round even began - the most anyone has ever won for the main part of the game.

Unfortunately for him, his luck ran out in the bonus round.

Desanto couldn't solve "wooden gavel" to add to his winnings.

"Wheel of Fortune" airs weekdays on Channel 7 at 7:30 p.m.
