Joining us with more was New York City Council Member Gale Brewer.
With COVID, flu and other respiratory illnesses on the rise, the New York City public hospital system is bringing back masks. All 11 New York city-run public hospitals brought back mask mandates. The mandate applies to anyone entering New York health and ospitals, community health clinics and nursing homes. It went into effect just after Christmas. And it's not just New York. In New Jersey, several hospitals also reinstated mask requirements. The CDC says New Jersey is one of the eight states with very high respiratory illness indicators.
Eyewitness News reporter Crystal Cranmore has more on the concerns as cases rise.
