4 injured in West New York when building facade crumbles

Part of the faade of a two-story building collapsed Tuesday afternoon in West New York, injuring several people below.

At around 5:30 p.m., in the 200 block of 60th Street, chunks of the faade fell to the street, injuring two men and two women walking by. Two were taken to Jersey City Medical Center in serious but stable condition with head injuries. The other two were taken to Palisades Medical Center in stable condition.

There is a doctor's office on the first floor of the building and an apartment above it.

The cause of the partial collapse is under investigation.

West New York's mayor, Felix Roque, is a doctor and works a couple of doors down from where this happened. He rushed out of his office and started treating the victims when he heard the collapse.
