Three-year-old Cooper Waldvogel had gone nine months without seeing his mom Kathryn who was deployed in Afghanistan. So when Kathryn finally came home after completing her assignment with the National Guard, Waldvogel wasn't going to let anything, including military protocol, stop him from hugging his mom.

The video below depicts Kathryn Vogel taking part in a military ceremony in Little Falls, Minnesota. Soldiers are supposed to wait for dismissal until they can meet with family members, but Cooper didn't care as he ran across the room and gave his mom one military sized hug.
