New FDNY Calendar of Heroes includes first woman

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The New York City Fire Department's official 2015 Calendar of Heroes is now on sale and for the first time ever, a woman is among those featured.

The calendar features FDNY firefighters at firehouses and other locations across New York City.

The woman, Danae Mines of Engine Co. 60 in the Bronx, is one of 41 female firefighters in the department.

Proceeds from sale of the calendar go to the FDNY Foundation, which promotes fire safety education.

The calendar is on sale at http://www.fdnyfoundation.org/ and will be available at the FDNY Fire Zone Store in Midtown Manhattan.

Each month brings a fire safety message ensuring that each person who purchases the calendar can remain fire safe all year long.
