Stranger enters Floral Park school, hangs out in bathroom
Rob Nelson reports from Floral Park.

FLORAL PARK (WABC) -- Police on Long Island are investigating a strange case of criminal trespassing.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory school in Floral Park.

Nassau County police said a stranger came through the front doors and walked downstairs into a men's bathroom. At the time, there was a previously scheduled fire drill and the school was evacuated.

He was seen by faculty who tried to stop him, but he still managed to get away. It's still unclear exactly why the man entered the school, but on Thursday, a spokesman for the archdiocese said security protocols at the school worked well.

The man is described as a Hispanic male in his mid to late 20s, about 6-foot tall with a thin build, wearing a dark gray jogging suit and dark sneakers.

Anyone with information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
