HELL'S KITCHEN (WABC) -- One person is in custody in connection with a stabbing attack on a Manhattan street corner.

The disturbing incident in Hell's Kitchen was caught on surveillance video, which shows 19-year-old Carlos Muentes, Jr., collapsing in the middle of 52nd Street and 10th Avenue after being stabbed with a piece of a broom stick.

Moments earlier, police say a group of teens had been chasing him around 3:15 p.m. in an attack that ended in front of Crispin's Wine Bar.

One of them, identified as 17-year-old Tristin Ellis, was arrested late Tuesday night on gang assault and other charges.

Muentes' father saw it all happen, and he put pressure on the wound after his son collapsed in the street.

He says his son was in a store, and there were a bunch of kids in there who always hang out and cause trouble. All of a sudden, some of the people from the store started chasing his son and a friend.

The victim was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition with a collapsed lung, and he is expected to survive.
