Police search for driver in hit and run that seriously injured pedestrian on Long Island

MANORVILLE (WABC) -- Police on Long Island are searching for the driver involved in a hit and run crash that left a man seriously injured.

52-year old Nicholas Cerulli was walking at the Pine Hills apartment complex in Manorville Saturday night when he was struck by a vehicle.

Investigators say the driver left the scene, then a neighbor called an ambulance to take the victim to the hospital.

Police do not have a description of the vehicle, which may have front end damage.

Cerulli was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was admitted and treated for injuries to both his legs and his left arm.
