PHOTOS: Sun illuminates Horsetail Falls in Yosemite National Park

YOSEMITE, Calif. -- For a short time every February, the sun hits the water just right at Yosemite National Park's Horsetail Falls, making the waterfall look like it's a river of fire.

Viewers have been sharing their incredible images with KGO-TV, ABC7NY's sister station in San Francisco.

According to Yosemite's website, the most convenient and frequently shot view of Horsetail Fall is at the El Capitan picnic area.

The website also states that the phenomenon is typically the most stunning during middle to late February. However, the effect depends on conditions for the year, cloud cover and the amount of water flow in the waterfall.
