MATAGORDA, Texas -- It's an annual tradition that everyone looks forward to, but few know when it will happen.
The Huebner Bros. Cattle Co. has been driving cattle across the Colorado River in Matagorda, Texas for more than 100 years. They bring the cattle to a pasture on the Matagorda Peninsula in the winter, then bring them back through the river in the spring.

The cows are led by cowboys on horseback and crews in boats, making sure they all make it across safely.
