JERSEY CITY, New Jersey (WABC) -- A three-alarm fire burned through a Jersey City house Thursday morning.
The fire broke out in the two-story home on Irving Street at around 4:15 a.m. It was under control by 5:30 a.m.
Five people were hurt, including three children. One of the injured children is a 7-month-old girl. A woman had minor burns to the face; three adults suffered smoke inhalation.
They were taken to Jersey City Medical Center. All injuries were minor.
Four were treated and released. A 2-year-old was transferred to the burn unit at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston to be treated for minor burns to the shoulder later on Thursday.
A firefighter transmitted a mayday alert, but then reported he was outside the house and uninjured. No firefighters were hurt
Firefighters battled the blaze in one house to stop it from spreading to a second.
The cause is under investigation.
