JONES BEACH, Long Island (WABC) -- The calendar may say late September, but the summer temperatures are going to stick around at least through the weekend.
That means one more chance to soak up the sun.
Jones Beach is ready. Officials say lifeguards are on duty Friday and through the weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The water will be open to swimmers at Field 6 and Central Mall.
Rough surf and dangerous rip currents are expected with Hurricane Maria and remnants of Jose still churning in the Atlantic Ocean.
Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 86 Saturday and could hit the record of 90 on Sunday.
