LITTLE ITALY, Manhattan (WABC) -- Chef Carmine Di Giovanni of Aunt Jake's restaurant visited the studio to talk about making fresh pasta.

He whipped up cavatelli with a pasta maker on set, and simmered his Broken Meatball Sauce.

Aunt Jake's also features a risotto with short rib, and two brunch dishes, Pecorino Flatbread and Avocado Toast with Pancetta.

The restaurant on Mulberry Street in Little Italy has a pasta-making station in the storefront as well as a dining room.

The menu offers seven different pasta shapes and seven unique sauces dish. Diners can choose a homemade pasta such as cavatelli, fettucine nero or beet papparedelle, and then add a sauces like broken meatball, rabbit ragu or arrabiata.

It also features composed Italian dishes like Sweet Potato Gnocchi, Chestnut Farfalle, or Braised Short Rib with gorgonzola risotto.
