Man's heroic efforts on LA train go viral
Lauren Glassberg has the story of a Good Samaritan who subdued an aggressive train rider.

LOS ANGELES, California (WABC) -- The next time you ride a train, there's one passenger you might want at your side.

He's the Good Samaritan who subdued an aggressive rider in Los Angeles.

"You always hear these instances where someone creates a disturbance but it never really escalates to anything," said Adrian Kaczmarek, train hero.

But on Saturday night, a shirtless man made the riders on a Los Angeles metro train very uneasy.

He went up against the guy with the bicycle literally where the guy had to have the bicycle up as a guard when he was punching and pushing through the bicycle, the women got knocked over and pushed over," Kaczmarek said.

After several minutes of this kind of behavior, Kaczmarek, a fitness professional, felt compelled to intervene.

With little trouble he put the shirtless man in a headlock, and that caused him to briefly pass out.

The video went viral and has now been viewed millions of times. Kaczmarek is originally from Port Jefferson, Long Island, and now the 32-year-old's being called a Viking, a hero.

"As I was on top of him I was just saying, 'Stay down, stay down, help is on the way. Just stay down, I'm not going to hurt you, just stay down," Kaczmarek said.

The conductor notified police. A female transit officer arrived first and needed Kaczmarek's help.

"The gentleman was underneath me, punching my leg, and she handed me the cuffs. So I turned him over and cuffed him. A nice little citizen's arrest," Kaczmarek said.

But he knows the situation could have been very different...

"You don't know if they have a gun, a knife, or a weapon, so you don't know if you want to intervene because there's no one else to help you," Kaczmarek said.

The shirtless man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly, and Kaczmarek has since updated his twitter profile to say: "Just a man revolutionizing the Health and Fitness industry by day. Crimefighter at night."
