Morris Heights fire leaves elderly woman dead

MORRIS HEIGHTS, Bronx (WABC) -- An elderly woman died in an apartment building fire in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx Thursday.

The 78-year-old woman was in the bedroom of a third-floor apartment in an Andrews Avenue building when a fire broke out just before midnight.

She was later pronounced dead at Saint Barnabus Hospital.

No other injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation
