NEW ROCHELLE (WABC) -- Surveillance video captured the chaotic scene just before 8:00 Sunday morning on Rockdale Avenue in New Rochelle.

Police say Christian Santillan was behind the wheel of a white Cadillac CTS that violently slammed into two parked cars.

The incident happened right in front of C & C Auto Repairs.

As eyewitness Joe Detz went to call 911, Santillian's vehicle stopped by the curb. Seconds later, Santillian got out of the car.

"It was a huge crash - you felt it from inside the shop. The driver proceeded to back up, and it looked like he was coming right at me," said Detz, "he appeared to be fine - hopped out of the car and left."

Well, things aren't always as they seem. Police say Santillian was drunk, stumbled through a backyard, and then walked into a house through a sliding glass door.

"He hopped into their kitchen, they were just sitting down having breakfast, and he said 'oh, who are you?'" adds Detz.

The family didn't know Santillian, who took off running. Three hours later, he walked into New Rochelle Police, and turned himself in. His blood alcohol level was allegedly .12.
