NEW YORK (WABC) -- Check out our blog of the New York Mets as they took on the Chicago Cubs in the National League Championship Series.
These teams never met in the playoffs before, though they squared off in some memorable pennant races when they were NL East rivals (1969, '84, '89). New York had home-field advantage in this series despite finishing with the worst record among the five NL playoff teams. The Cubs won the season series 7-0, but the Mets returned the favor with a four game sweep in the NLCS.
Game 1: Mets 4 Chicago 2
Game 2: Mets 4 Chicago 1
Game 3: Mets 5 Chicago 2
Game 4: Mets 8 Chicago 8
