A 17-year-old is under arrest on Long Island, accused of swiping a cell phone from a juvenile in frightening fashion last month.

Police say Patrick Hood and a 15-year-old friend who was arrested last month stole the phone from another boy, with the younger suspect holding a machete to the victim's face.

The incident happened on Carroll Street in Roosevelt just after 6 p.m. on May 9.

Authorities say the suspects approached the victim, who was walking down the street, and stole his iPhone before fleeing the scene.

Responding officers were able to locate the whereabouts of the phone utilizing the "Find My Phone" application, and the 15-year-old was taken into custody.

The subsequent investigation led detectives to Hood, who was located on Thursday and placed under arrest without incident.

He is charged with first-degree robbery.
