President Obama's joke about de Blasio draws a response from the mayor

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio reacted on HOT 97 radio to Obama's 'CPT' joke about him at the Washington Correspondent's Dinner.

De Blasio said, "It is an honor to be cooked by the mayor of the free world. Its funny. When the president makes a joke about you, its kind of cool."

He went on to say, "In the sense its gotten this much attention, its sad to see that happened. But again, I keep saying, it was a satire."

"My friends in the media had jokes in bad taste too. That's the whole point of the show, sadly."

The mayor was asked about comedian Larry Wilmore's use of the 'n' word in reference to Obama at the dinner.

De Blasio said, "Now that's going a little further. I hope we can understand when satire is satire."

"You have to laugh at yourself, in life but in public life especially."

Here is the President's full speech.
