PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania -- A rape suspect who Philadelphia police say was mistakenly released from custody Tuesday afternoon has been found.
Russell Alan Bryant was back in police custody as of 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, a police spokesperson said.
No details were given on how or when he was located.
Bryant had been behind bars awaiting trial on rape charges.
He had been jailed since May 24, when he was charged with rape and other crimes relating to an alleged attack in October.
He was transported from Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility to 18th District Headquarters in Southwest Philadelphia to be booked on unrelated charges when police say he was "inadvertently released" at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday.
