Police ID woman killed by flatbed truck in Washington Heights

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, New York -- New York City police have identified the 63-year-old victim who was killed by a flatbed truck this week while crossing the street in Upper Manhattan.

Police say Maria Minchala, of Manhattan, was crossing 165th street at Broadway in Washington Heights Wednesday night when she was struck by the truck.

She was taken to a hospital where she died.

The driver remained on the scene.

Police say no charges were filed.
