NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- Service is back on track for commuters on New Jersey Transit who faced delays in and out of Penn Station during the evening rush Wednesday.

The problem was caused by downed Amtrak overhead wires in Sunnyside Yard in Long Island City.

The wires came down at about 1 p.m., leading to delays of up to 45 minutes.

But by Wednesday evening, the wires had been repaired and full service was restored.

Sunnyside Yard is used to store and turn the trains around.
