Long Island woman arrested, accused of DWI

BETHPAGE, N.Y. -- Police arrested a woman for DWI after they said she was driving the wrong way near the Southern State Parkway Thursday morning.

Around 1 a.m., Nassau County Police received 911 calls about a white Toyota Camry driving northbound on southbound Route 135 near Exit 4 of the Southern State Parkway. Responding patrol officers located the vehicle at exit 7E of Route 135 in Bethpage on the right shoulder.

Jillian Dethuin, 31, of St. James, was identified by witnesses at the scene as the driver when she was stopped near Exit 7E. Police said she was under the influence of alcohol and she was arrested. No injuries were reported.

Dethuin is facing aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated charges, as well as violations for driving the wrong way on a one-way street and reckless driving.

She is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in Hempstead.
