New Jersey residents hopeful this is the last of snow
Toni Yates has the story from Brick, New Jersey.

OLD BRIDGE, N.J. (WABC) -- The New York area is digging out following a major winter storm that dropped as much as 9 inches of snow, and dangerous road conditions led to dozens of accidents and spinouts Friday.

New Jersey took the brunt of the storm, with 9 inches falling in Brick Township and 8.5 in Carteret and Manalapan.

Eight inches fell in Hopewell and Pitman, and a little more than 7 inches covered the ground in Estell Manor.

Road crews are still plowing throughout the state, and motorists are facing speed restrictions.

Multiple crashes on Route 9 were blamed on icy road conditions in the Old Bridge area.

Police say there were four separate accidents during the Friday morning commute. No injuries were reported.

Many schools had delayed openings, and some were closed because local roads were still snow-covered.

Transit delays were also reported.
