LI bus carrying several children strikes pole; minor injuries reported
A school bus with several children on board was involved in an accident on Long Island Monday afternoon.

MASSAPEQUA, Long Island (WABC) -- A school bus with several children on board struck a pole on Long Island Monday afternoon.

The one vehicle accident happened shortly before 3 p.m. on Alhambra Road and Merrick Road in Massapequa.

Police say a few children on board were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities have closed off the intersection in both directions.
