A family of four from Massachusetts who were killed when a bus crashed into multiple vehicles in Virginia were traveling to a wedding with a carload of homemade desserts for the celebration.
The FDNY says the bus crashed into scaffolding around 4:35 p.m. at 115 E. 41 St. between Lexington Avenue and Park Avenue.
Police say the operator of a Q27 bus westbound on Sanford Avenue had a mechanical issue with the brakes.
The 37-year-old driver said they had just parked the bus when it started rolling backward on Broadway at around 10:45 p.m.
