At its peak, there were more than 35,000 customers without power in New Jersey, and another 13,000 in the dark on Long Island. Westchester County has more than 2,200 outages, with about 900 in New York City.
The fast and heavy downpour caused some flooding in parts of the region, making some roads impassable.
Take a look at this photo from Hillsdale, New Jersey:

Air travel in and out of area airports is impacted by the weather. These were the average delays as of 3 p.m.:
Newark - 2 hours
Kennedy - 2 hours
LaGuardia - 2 1/2 hours
The vicious storm knocked out power and knock down trees. Roadways were morphed into rivers.
In Englewood, winds were so powerful that a tree uprooted and toppled onto a house on Trion Avenue, crushing on to the roof.
The tree fell on a room that belonged to a baby, but fortunately no one was home at the time and there were no injuries.
